The crew recently attended the yearly Fire School training event held at Marine Corps. Base Camp Pendleton. We took part in training exercises focused on building skills for initial attack resources related to fire suppression in light fuels, dispatch communication, fire size-up, incident command and firing operations. Fire School provides an important and unique training opportunity for firefighter to gain experience fighting live fire in a controlled environment that prepares them for scenarios faced in the real world.

The seasonals have returned and the crew is getting ready for the summer. Over the last couple weeks we have been going over refresher training, medical extrication scenarios, CPR certification, crew hiking, line cutting and lots more. We recently hired two new seasonal crew members that came from Trabuco Crew 1(Tigers). The weather is definitely warming up, reaching triple digit temps, and we anticipate to be catching some local IA action soon.
