Completion of the very first workshop of Seiki Meridian Shiatsu in London

This is just the beginning of my life-long journey of Seiki Shiatsu. I have just completed the first seminar (out of five) on level 1 (There is a total of level 3).

Learning Seiki Shiatsu for the first time was an extraordinarily challenging and ego-breaking experience which pushed me to the edge.

With Seiki Shiatsu, I have to put myself to be 100% with it and be clear and honest to myself.

There is no room for faking. I also had to unlearn the habits of wrong practices which I picked up along the way and were detrimental to my body.

Despite the struggle, my passion for learning and practising Seiki Shiatsu was growing each day, and I felt every moment had full of meanings and purposes.

The pain and challenge of learning the new and unlearning the old, and facing my own shortcomings are better than living in my own illusion that I am doing right (when I am not) but deep inside forever feeling uncertainty and lost in my practice and understandings.

I’m grateful to be trained by Tzvika Sensei who teaches in a clear and precise way with greatest passion, enthusiasm and honesty.

I am also thrilled to practice with my fellow students as well as friends who share the same passion and challenges.

Next seminar will be in May.

A brief introduction of Seiki Shiatsu based on my understanding from the first lecture of Seiki Shiatsu Workshop in London, February 2019.

Intensely powerful and deep healing can take place by traditional Japanese medical Shiatsu, Seiki Meridian Shiatsu, 生気経絡指圧 .

Sei / 生 means 'life', or 'living', and Ki / 気 is 'energy' or 'life force', and in Chinese it is Qi.

Seiki is the primordial Ki/Qi, or the state of Qi before it divides to Yin / 陰 and Yang / 陽 ☯️; thus Seiki contains all.

Seiki is "the internal spark of primal energy that exists in everyone and is the source of our healing power" *1.

In oriental medicine, all the disease and imbalances are due to the excess, or deficiencies of Yin and Yang in the person. By connecting to Seiki which sleeps deep in the person, their own internal healing force, which transcends Yin and Yang, is awakened; therefore, they can heal themselves.

Seiki can be accessed through the person’s unique Tusbo/pressure points which are discovered by the trained practitioner. The locations of Seiki points/Tsubos and Meridians are not fixed or static as acupuncture points or the Meridians in the chart you usually see. They move and are in constant flow just as what real life is.

They are also unique to each individual, and the locations and depth differ from each person. Therefore, the practitioner needs to approach each point as an entirely new encounter; they cannot expect the one Seiki point to be in the same place as others.

Seiki practitioners learn how to find the patient's Seiki by first connecting to their own Seiki through their own heart, developing right intention, mental focus, and learning how to apply pressure to the patient’s Tsubo/pressure point with correct posture with the right movement which originates from the lower abdomen/tanden/dan tien. Everything including direction, gaze, angle, focus, intention, the positioning of the practitioner and receiver’s body, and connection of the mind, heart and body, need to be one and precise to find Seiki.
