We recently had our monthly STEAM day at Carver. October's theme was Grossology. Second grade learned why our blood is so important with Mrs. Shields in the Science Lab. They identified the parts of blood and the job each does for our bodies.

In Mrs. Ditmore's Kindergarten class, students made skeletons and talked about bones.

Justin Terry from State Farm has partnered with second grade to provide books to students each month. He recently read to Ms. Stone's class and gave all of her students a new book and bookmark. We look forward to having him back next month to read to Ms. Corrigan's class.

Carver 5th Grade EAST students partnered with the Innovation Hub to paint a 3D crosswalk in front of our school. For the past several weeks, students have worked on their designs and artists from the Innovation Hub held a workshop at Carver to help teach about perspective, vanishing points, optical illusions and design. On Saturday, students along with the artists from the Innovation Hub painted two 3D crosswalks in front of the school. They hope this project will help prevent accidents due to the optical illusion of a raised crosswalk.
