XOXO Valentine's Card

Hi all, Today, for the last Valentine’s card of this year, I have a lovely card using an oldie but a goodie, rub ons. I started out with patterned papers from my stash for the background. The lovely florals make it a nice feminine card. For the focal area instead of using my trusty stamps I pulled out some rub ons from my stash. You didn’t really rub ons used very often, but for this card I combined a few different ones to create the focal and the border. For the focal I comb

Owl Valentine Card

Hi all, Today I have a cute Valentine card to share with you featuring one of my favorite critters to use on a card, an owl. I used a couple of patterned papers from my stash. I used Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Heart Stackable dies to cut out the heart window, which leaves a nice stitched heart border all the way around the window. For the owl image I used My Favorite Things I’m Owl Yours stamp set. I stamped the image and colored it in with my copics. I added glossy accent

Winter Skies Valentine

Hi all, Today I have an adorable Valentine’s Day card featuring Lawn Fawn’s Winter Skies stamp set. I had that great constellations patterned paper in my stash and immediately knew what I wanted to do with it. For the images I used the bears from the Winter Skies set. I used my comics to color in the images and added a bit of shimmer to the scarf. The sentiment comes from an older set from my stash that isn’t even available anymore but the size of the Happy Valentine’s Day se

Purrfect Together Card

Hi all, Today I have a Valentine’s card that is purrfect for those cat lovers. I used the Collage Cover Up die from My Favorite Things to create the background using a bunch of scraps from my stash. The cute cat image and sentiment come from the Purrfect Pair stamp set by Mama Elephant. I colored in the image with my copics and die cut it with the coordinating dies. I hope you enjoyed today’s post. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Cute Dog Christmas Card

Today I have the cutest doggy Christmas card to share with you. I created the background using patterned papers from my stash. The star of the show is clearly that adorable puppy. The image comes from MFT’s Happy Pawlidays stamp set, one of my favorites from MFT. I colored him in with copics. I added some shimmer to the hat and lights and glossy accents to his nose, for that wet nose effect. For the sentiment I stamped and embossed onto a red strip of card stock. I hope yo

Flamingo Christmas

Hi all, As I shared in a summer post, I moved recently from Connecticut to Florida.  So today’s card featuring a Christmas flamingo makes perfect sense. When I saw last month’s MFT card kit which featured the Festive Flamingo stamp set I just had to get it.  The patterned paper I used for the background comes from the patterned paper that was also included in the kit, Petite Plaid. For the focal I created a little scene.  I used some distress oxide inks to create the purple s

Holiday Wreath Card

Hi all, It’s time to get those Holiday cards started!  Here’s a simple one using some oldies from Lawn Fawn. I used patterned paper from my stash for the background.  For the focal I used the wreath from Lawn Fawn’s Bows and Holly stamp set.  I used my copics to color it in.  For the sentiment I used the Be Joyful set from Simon Says Stamp. I added some shimmer to the red parts of the wreath and a red pearl for the center of the bow. I hope you enjoyed today’s project.  Thank

Thanksgiving Card

Hi all, Can you believe it’s November?  It’s hard to believe that the holidays are almost upon us.  But let’s not forget Thanksgiving.  So today and for the next few posts I’ll be sharing some Thanksgiving cards with you. Today’s card is a nice clean and simple one.  I started out with Neenah Dessert Storm card stock for the base. I flicked on some brown ink for some interest to the background. For the focal I used a stamp set I purchased last year from Altenew which I didn’t

Dog Halloween Card

Hi all, Happy Halloween!  I’ve been out of the loop a bit on the blog, I know.  Life has just been hectic lately.  I’m hoping to get a grip on things in the coming weeks, just in time for the holiday season.  In the meantime, here’s a cute Halloween card. For this card I used a few patterned papers from my stash for the background and for the scene.  I love the combo of purple and orange for Halloween. For the focal image I returned to some original stamps from Lawn Fawn.  Th

Witch Halloween Card

Hi all, Today I have a fun witch Halloween card to share with you. I love this MFT stamp set for Halloween.  It’s the Witch Way Candy set which includes all those adorable images.  I stamped them, colored them with copics, and die-cut with the coordinating dies.  For the sentiment I used an old Hero Arts Happy Halloween set full of Halloween sentiments. Here’s a close up of the cute images and sentiment. I hope you enjoyed today’s project.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

More Pumpkin Spice Cards

Hi all, Today I have another card featuring the Pumpkin Spice set from Lawn Fawn. I created the background with a couple of patterned papers from my stash onto a kraft card base.  I find kraft card bases work really well for fall themed cards. This time for the cup instead of using copics like I did on my last card, I did some paper piecing which I haven’t done in quite some time.  I stamped the sentiment using two different inks and embellished with nuvo drops in Ripened Pum

Pumpkin Spice Latte Card

Hi all, Pumpkin Spice Latte’s have become a fall tradition now.  So of course we have to now put them on our cards too. The patterned papers come from my stash of fall themed papers.  I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Scalloped Borders dies to create the pretty red scalloped border. For the focal images I finally used the Pumpkin Spice stamp set from Lawn Fawn, which I got last year.  This is my struggle, I buy stamps when they come out and my lack of actual time to play means it

Happy Fall Fox Card

Hi all, Now that I’m living in Florida I have to create Fall for myself.  This past weekend I got a pretty Fall wreath and all of my fall decorations and decorated the living room.  Here on the blog fall cards are the way to bring fall for myself and for you too. For the background I used pretty fall themed papers.  The cute fox image comes from one of my favorite Lawn Fawn fall stamp sets, Into the Woods.  I stamped a bed of leaves behind them using stamps from the Sweater W

Happy Fall Leaf Card

Hi all, I have a fun fall card to share with you today featuring one of my favorite things about fall, the beautiful, colorful leaves. I created the fun background using a variety of strips of paper from the same fall collection of papers. For the focal I stamped the large leaf onto kraft card stock with red ink.  The image comes from MFT’s Fall Foliage stamp set.  For the sentiment I stamped directly onto one of the strips of the background.  The sentiment comes from the Swe

Thinking of You Sunflowers Card

Hi all, Now that I’m living in Florida I’m even more obsessed about making Fall themed projects since I have to get my fall fix from pretty fall themed papers, stamps and dies.  So let the Fall projects begin! The star of the show is definitely that big basket full of sunflowers.  The images come from an older Gina K. Designs set, the Holiday Basket set.  I used my copics to color the images and added a bit of shimmer to the sunflowers. You can see some of the shimmer on this

Summer 2018 Update

Hi all, I know it’s been forever since I’ve posted something on the blog.  So I wanted to get on here and give you an update on what’s been going on this summer. First of all my daughter graduated from high school.  So many mixed emotions.  Proud of her accomplishments but also sad because I knew it meant the growing up years were over and she would be off soon to college. We also moved from Connecticut to Florida!  After 13 years of  living in Connecticut you can imagine how

Cute Mom Card

Hi all, I have a cute Mom card perfect for Mother’s Day but could also work all year round. This was possibly my favorite card of all the Mother’s Day cards I created this season.  I started with Lawn Fawn’s Leafy Tree Backdrop die.  I created the top part of the tree with dies from the same set and colorful  patterned paper.  I used papers from Lawn Fawn’s Perfectly Plaid  and Perfectly Plaid Rainbow collections. I used grassy borders to create the grass and then used the li

Rose Mother's Day Card

Hi all, Mother’s Day is fast approaching.  Here’s another pretty card perfect for Mom. I started out with the Neenah Dessert Storm card sock for the card base.  I pulled patterned papers from my stash.  These are from an old paper pad from Hot Off the Press. For the focal i stamped the rose from the Scribble Roses set by My Favorite Things.  The great thing about this set is that you have both the outline stamps and the solid stamps, so it’s easy to color it in.  The leaves a

Mother's Day Butterflies Card

Hi all, I have another Mother’s Day card to share with you today. For this card I loved using the MFT Stitched Cover Up to create the background.  I like that it’s a great way to use patterned paper scraps that you don’t want to get rid of because they are so pretty, as in this case.  They worked perfectly for those two open spots. The sentiment comes from Lawn Fawn’s Mother’s Day stamp set.  The little butterflies come from an older Hero Arts set.  I stamped the two butterfl

Mother's Day Red Flowers Card

Hi all, I have another Mother’s Day card to share with you today.  Mother’s Day cards always inspire me to take out my flower stamps and play. The star of this show are definitely those big red flowers.  I used a strip of patterned paper for the background on some Neena white card stock. For the flowers I used the Flashy Florals set from My Favorite Things.  These are solid images that layer and are so easy to put together.  I stamped the leaves from the same set and used the
