Thornhaven Manor

On September 8, 2018 Lesley, Christine and Paul had the pleasure of investigating Thornhaven Manor. Christine had been there previously on a similar investigation. Paul had taken his wife Brenda there on her very first ghost hunt last fall. The current owner, Steve, christened the house Thornhaven due to the number of thorn bushes on the property. In 2012 the building was purchased by Steve and he began to restore the property. The house has four staircases, seven doors t

Private Residence

On the evening of Friday, March 16, 2018, TIP investigators, Paul and Lesley, conducted an investigation at a private residence in the far western suburbs. The home was built in 2002 and the current owners moved in last year. Since moving in the owner has noticed items going missing and turning up in odd places, a breath, the feeling of being watched, and a child that has claimed to see a “ghost”. (The child does watch a TV show that has cartoon ghosts.)

Randolph Infirmary Asylum

The TIP team had the privilege of visiting the Randolph Infirmary located in Winchester, Indiana in April 2018. The 58,000 square foot building was built in 1898-99. This was not the first building to be on the property as two other buildings previously stood, one being torn down because of poor conditions and then another building burnt down. The current building has served as and infirmary, asylum, nursing home and a storage facility after it was closed down in 2009.

Fox Hollow Farms

In July of 2018, the TIP team investigated Fox Hollow Farms located in Caramel, IN. Fox Hollow Farms is the former home of serial killer Herb Baumeister. Herb would pick up men at gay bars around the Indianapolis area and bring them back to his home and kill them. Authorities believe that he would either kill them in the indoor pool in the basement or the bar also located in the basement. He would then place the bodies in the woods behind his home (unburied). Herb committed s

AC Clement House

In June 2018, the TIP team did a private investigation at the AC Clement home in Joliet, Il. This home is a beautiful home that is grand in size and has an interesting history. Arthur Charles Clement built this home in 1902. Unfortunately, Mr. Clement committed suicide before moving into the home. His daughter and her family moved into the home and lived there until 1922. After that, it was converted into a nursing home but that was shut down in the 1950’s due to reports of

Edinburgh Manor

On May 19, Paul, Lesley, Christine, and Donna visited Edinburgh Manor in Iowa. The town of Edinburgh was originally the county seat of Jones County. In June 1840, the land located at section 36 in Wayne Township was originally deeded for courthouse purposes with the grant being signed by President Buchanan. Shortly after this grant the county seat was changed from Edinburgh and the commissioners kept the grant for the establishment of the county poor farm. Described as a "com

Crown Point Jail

The TIP team investigated the Crown Point Jail in Crown Point, IN on April 28, 2017. Investigating were Paul, Lesley, Madison and special guests Kaity and Deb. The size and enormity of the jail was rather breathtaking. In the past it has housed John Dillinger who famously escaped from the jail in 1934. Also, scenes for the movie about John Dillinger were also shot at the jail. The team started the night out with a tour of the jail. After our tour we started our investigation

On July 17, 2017 Paul spent the night at the Myrtles Plantation in Louisiana just outside of Baton Rouge. Paul's daughter lives in NOLA so he has been taking advantage of visits down there to do some ghost hunting. Myrtles is a beautiful place and full of history. He rented the only suite on the first floor which gave him access to both verandas. The main building has other suites upstairs and cabins and cottages on the property guests can stay in. Private Residence Joliet

On July 21, Lesley and Paul investigated a private residence of a famous historical Joliet resident. Due to the extreme heat we were only able to stay a couple of hours to do a preliminary investigation. The owner had an encyclopedic knowledge of the historical resident. TIP members love to learn the history of the places we investigate. We conducted EVP sessions of the rooms. While in an upstairs bedroom we heard what sounded like someone in the hallway. On September 30, 2017 Lesley, Christine and Paul investigated Ashmore Estates. Ashmore is well known as a ghost hunting hot spot located in Ashmore, IL. Ashmore is set up for paranormal investigations with two command center rooms and is pre-wired for cameras and DVRs. Located in New Castle, Indiana, Paul took Brenda on her first ghost hunt although she has helped with other aspects of the club for quite some time. The house was built in 1845, Italian design. Indicated to be 3 bricks thick. There are three wells located on the property. Named Thornhaven by the current owner due to the number of thorn bushes and trees. Farrar Elementary (3rd Visit)

On October 21, 2017 Paul was privileged to be a guest investigator with the Midwest Ghost Society (MGS) at Farrar Elementary school in Farrar, IA. Paul has been to Farrar twice before and loves going there as it's a creepy place. See the earlier visit descriptions for a history of the location. MSG has far more members than TIP and it was interesting to see how they operate. I will add more as I analyze the evidence.

Randolph Asylum and Infirmary

On June 3 & 4 2016, Paul, and the two Brandons visited the Randolph Infirmary in Indiana. Now this was advertised on Facebook as limited spots and $129 including dinner and breakfast. We don't usually go on this type of thing but we were curious about the place so we used it as a scouting expedition. Well, we relearned why we don't do these public hunts anymore. Not counting the team running the show there were 35 people. We had recently read they have had up to 49 peopl

Eldred House

On April 16, 2016 TIP investigators Lesley, Tuesday, Paul and our friend Shana investigated the famous Eldred House in Eldred Illinois. The James J Eldred house completed in 1861 was probably the most elegant residential structure in the region and is an important surviving example of Greek revival architecture transplanted to the Illinois bluff. Combining the stylistic values of neoclassicism with traditional local materials, Eldred created a county estate home that became
