I can't believe we're in July already!

This year has flown by- we've been busy on a number of fronts. We're tracking updates to General Plan documents, working on project approvals (with a few wins along the way!) and fighting against onerous land use policies for our clients, all while settling into our new office space in downtown Santa Barbara.

Looking ahead, election season is already upon us. With the Presidential Primary moving to March 3rd, 2020, key races are taking shape and our team is already helping candidates.

I wanted to take a minute and share a few of our announcements: a new website, the launch of our Inside Corner Podcast, and some of the events we attend out and about in the community.

Announcing the Launch of the Inside Corner Podcast
Rincon, translated to Spanish, is literally the 'inside corner'. Our new Podcast features opinion leaders and offers an inside edge at the intersection of business & politics in California.

A quick snapshot of our issues and events:

General Plan Update: Ventura County 2040
The County of Ventura is in the process of updating their 2040 General Plan. We're tracking updates and key meetings in how this land use document will guide business decisions in the County for the next few decades.

California Independent Petroleum Association Annual Meeting & Western States Petroleum Association Associates Board Retreat
The last few weeks, we attended a number of oil industry meetings, focusing on how companies and associations engage with the public and decision makers. It's no secret oil and gas is controversial in California and we're right there in the mix.

We the People- Volunteer Judge
For the last three years, we've participated as a community judge for the 5th graders of the Conejo Valley Unified School District in their unit on American government called We the People. We're proud of the work these kids are doing and are honored to be talking civic responsibility with the next generation!

Teaching Communications with the Leadership Institute
Over the last year, we've been volunteering to lecture for the Leadership Institute to teach campaign strategy and communication to elected officials, candidates and activists in San Diego, Orange County, Santa Barbara, Las Vegas, Thousand Oaks and just got back from Dallas-Fort Worth. Next up, Monterey, San Antonio, and even Honolulu.
