A Helping Hand Needed!!! :)

As a lot of you may already be aware, Scoil Chaitríona Cailíní in Coolock was badly damaged by fire in October of this school year. The staff and children are currently residing in temporary accommodation. Sadly, they have lost all of their teaching resources and children's books. They have asked that if anyone has donations of children's books suitable for building back up their library it would be greatly appreciated. Here in North Bay ETNS, we teach our children to be kind

Comhairle na nÓg AGM in croke Park !

Well done to the five sixth class pupils who made our school extremely proud yesterday representing at the comhairle na nÓg in croke park where they actively participated in discussions about matters of importance to young people! Student Council Art Competition 🎄⛄️🎅

Our Student Council have come up with an excellent new art competition for the school. All children are invited to make a Christmas tree decoration using recycled materials! All decorations will be displayed on a tree in the library. Entries need to be in by the 6th of December! Lots of great prizes are up for grabs!! 🎄

Some November Reminders

We have a training day coming upon November 25th 2019. The school will be closed all day. Parent Teacher Meetings: School closes Nov 27th and 28th for Parent Teacher meetings at 14.05 on both days. AGM: The Patron and PTA will hold their AGMs on Thursday Nov 21st @ 19.30. All welcome.

First Class had an Amazing Time at the Botanic Gardens! Check out these fantastic photos..

1st class enjoyed a fantastic trip to the Botanic Gardens last Tuesday. The sun shone down on the plants and trees and the beautiful autumnal colours were all around us. Our guides Jean and Angela showed us around all the gardens and brought us to the fairy garden, viking house, tropical house and education garden to name but a few. Well Being Week

During Well Being Week we talked about how we look after and take care of ourselves and our friends. We decided to make Calm Jars to help us to deal with times when we are feeling a little stressed. We enjoyed making them and we shared our Calm Jars with our friends in class.

Botanic Gardens

Second Class had great fun at the Botanic Gardens on Tuesday. Alan showed them around. They really liked the Viking House and the Green houses. They planted marigolds with Angela and learned a lot about the different plants in the Education Garden from Jean.

Waste-free Wednesdays

Our student council members are leading a new project in Northbay called Waste-free Wednesdays. We are asking all students to try use less single-use plastics in their lunch boxes every Wednesday. All students will bring home their own waste from their lunches and we will monitor our recycling each Wednesday. Reduce-Reuse-Recycle!!

Senior Infants Aistear 🏠

In Senior Infants our new Aistear theme is ‘Houses and Homes’. We like playing in our playhouse together and are enjoying making food in our playdoh kitchens. Using recycled materials we are building houses for birds and other animals. Lots more fun to come!

Art in 4th Class

In September we looked at the theme of umbrellas. We looked at paintings that contained umbrellas and we did pencil sketches with colouring pencils and then silhouettes. Our theme this fortnight is toadstools and mushrooms. We watched a video of lots of mushrooms and toadstools and then did some simple drawings.
