Share a Haiku or Two

A haiku is a non rhyming 3 line poem with a total of 17 syllables. Each line of the poem has specific number of syllables. Line 1 has 5 syllables, line 2 has 7 syllables, and line 3 also has 5 syllables. While many haikus describe something in nature, this is not required. Poetry is about expressing ones inner thoughts and feelings, so write about whatever you wish. Mom & Me Tea

We had a wonderful time at the Mom & Me Tea! Thank you to everyone who came and supported the library. We collected $200! Thank you to all of the local community businesses who donated prizes for our raffle. We can't wait to see everyone next year!

April 30th marks Diá de los niños , el diá dos librós, an annual celebration of literacy for children and families of all lingual and cultural backgrounds. Texas Reads One Book

Texas Reads One Book is back! Gunter Elementary students will be participating in the Texas Reads One Book program, one of the many reading programs through Read to Them. Read to Them is a non-profit organization promoting family literacy.
