Family holiday at Hotel Roc Marbella Park

Our overall impression of the Hotel Roc Marbella Park is that it is a friendly hotel in beautiful grounds with very good facilities and an amazing animation t eam, who were brilliant with children. There were four of us ranging in age from 6 to 60+ and we all had a good time. The hotel is clearly best suited to those travelling with children (pre-teen) as the main attraction, the water park, is buzzing all day long with kids enjoying the waterslides and pools and activi

Mick is amazing. If he can dance like this then I should be able to get myself to my weekly dance classs without complaining. https://twitter.com/i/status/1128631879844933632

Lost Soul - a monologue

INT. BY THE WINDOW - DAY MARY Such a lovely day today. I can’t wait to go out in the sunshine. As soon as Lizzie comes back we’ll get off the train and walk down to the seafront. Maybe even go in the sea. Well, perhaps Lizzie can. She does like her swimming and she’s very good at it. I’m so proud of her. Such a good girl. I must check she has her cardigan though. Probably a bit cool on the beach. And she’s such a tiny thing. Not like her big beefy brother. (pause) He’s not he

Recipe for a Great European Project

European co-operation at it's best! Ingredients People Curiosity Respect Friendship Communication First Select groups of people from different countries: Italy, Spain, Turkey and the UK. Gently fold in people's ideas from each country. Leave to brew up dreams, plans and timetables. Add in curiosity, repect and friendship on a daily basis. Stir regularly and spice up the mix with magical moments. Blend together new tastes and ideas as groups travel to meet each other. Serve wi

Why didn't Warren make me laugh?

When I sit down to watch a repeat of My Family, I know I’m in for half an hour of laughter. Sometimes the tears running down my face sort, it’s so funny, like the episode where Susan Harper gets her OBE - think broken heel, torn jacket and chocolate fountain. So why do I find that comedy so funny whilst others, like ‘Warren’, BBC’s new sit com, leave me completely unmoved? There are similarities with the main character. Warren and Ben Harper are both miserable old gits

The Return on Commander Cherry T Ketch

We had such an amazing time make this - 30 years ago!!!! Please don't worry about the events in the film. It didn't really happen, honest, even though a number of people who watched it thought I really had gone into space... Quite surprised none of us were nominated for Oscars really. Guess it was just a bit ahead of it's time.

Dancing into 2019

There's not been a huge amount to love this January, so far, but one good thing has been the dancing. Lots of zumba and a weekly dance class really make me feel better. Next weekend I'm off to a zumbathon with my daughters and grand daughter. Should be good! And I'll also be going to 'Everybody Dance Now', which is on in a couple of months. Brighton is a good place to be for this! However, it would have been nice to have been somewhere warmer - like Egypt maybe - for a week o

Ratatouille

Wonderful writing here, and the film's not half bad. I liked the ride at Disneyland Paris too, (long queue, but worth the wait).

Script to Screen

I've only just discovered this and have just had a little cry watching clips from a few great films that pull at the heart strings. I hope to learn from some of these great writers and film makers.

Orcombe Point

Funny how my screenplay - The Feud of Podderington St James - seems to relate so much to Exmouth, past and present. I do love this beach.

Day 18 - The Great Video Hunt

I was looking for a video my son made years ago. Just found it too! Nice way to see Brighton and Hove! Tiggi can't wait to to get his paws on that wheel. So here's Flow.

Day 17 Spot the Royals

I cycled down town today as I'd lost my cycle helmet, but I was pleased that my trip coincided with our fave royal couple - Harry and Meghan. Sadly I didn't actually see them, but I did find my cycle helmet - at the bank, being kept safe on top of the safe! ("Why not in it?" I should have protested. "It cost £40.")

Day 15 BlueCat entered

I spent much of yesterday editing and redrafting sections of The Slugs of Doom after deciding that I simply didn't have the time or the brain power to write 28 more pages of Shocalot, my latest project! So, I took note of the many helpful comments I had from #BaftaRocliffe about my previous competition entry and think it has more oomph and sparkle now. Just like a very simple line drawing can be more effective than an elaborate oil painting, it's clear a few well chosen words

Day 11 - Time to get writing

I want to enter the BlueCat Screenplay competition and have been getting daily reminders how long I have left. It's 2 days now, so I'm down to the wire - as usual. However, I woke this morning with a new idea for a tv series (probably) and am considering writing a 30 minute pilot. Into the mix goes a gypsy caravan towed by bikes, chocolate, children and a little magic. So I shall get writing and hope that there is still some magic around from when this little one created h

Day 8

Yesterday my larger than life friend sent me on a mission in London. I had to find the golden masks. He gave me directions so I headed off down Diagon Alley peering into shop windows on the way. Could it be here? Broomstick, owl, wands... no, not here. Could it be here? Golden snitch, weapons and a mask! Yes - but not a golden one. On I trotted. Aha! Found it! Golden masks - but first I needed to find a way in. Luckily that bespectaled schoolboy wizard #HarryPotter had given
