If things just never used to be this hard and you are looking for clarity through the brain fog,

Beetroot Fermented in Salt Brine

I love beetroot, the colour alone is just amazing! For this one, I grated this beetroot. Grating increases the surface area available to ferment so it is much faster, than slicing or cubes. I’ve made it sliced thinly before so you can put it on burgers 🍔 or I’ve made beetroot kvass a salty Russian style drink/tonic (I will share this recipe one day 😉) but this time around it’s grated. Ingredients: for a small jar you will need •3 large or 5 small beetroot (or enough to fill

Carrot Top Pesto

Can I make my own fermented food? Of course! Friday Ferments will give you some great ideas to start your own kitchen experiments. Don't have any parsley? No problem, you can replace it with carrot tops. put them in salads, or make this delicious pesto. Carrot top pesto is a delicious zero waste condiment. Carrot tops have a lovely taste not dissimilar to parsley, hardly surprising since they come from the same family (apiaceae) as parsnips, coriander, fennel, and parsley. C

Atjar Tjampoer = mixed sour

Can I make my own fermented food? Of course! Friday Ferments will give you some great ideas to start your own kitchen experiments.😆💕 Atjar Tjampoer is an Indonesian sweet and sour dish. As the word Tjampoer (mixed) already says Atjar Tjampoer is a mixed pickled vegetable dish. The fresh flavor of Atjar is a good combination with spicy dishes like Nasi Goreng Ingredients: 150g, sliced thinly 150g celery, thinly sliced 1 , thinly sliced 1 red , thinly sliced (deseeded) 1/2 ca

Nasi Goreng

Nasi Goreng - Fried Rice In Holland this is eaten a lot, it originates from the West Indies. We always ate Nasi Goreng with pickled onions or gherkins, peanut sauce and sweet soy sauce. Now I add a whole lot of kimchi to achieve the spicy sour taste, though I still think it’s great with a good pickled onion! In Holland this is served in a big soup bowl and eaten with a spoon peanut sauce and Atjar Tjampoer, and if you can find prawn chips ( kroepoek ) go ahead we just have
