Esta semana he tenido una experiencia extraordinaria y única!! Tuve el honor de conocer en persona al Maestro Lee Konitz, una verdadera leyenda de jazz, extraordinario, gentil, sabio, bendecido en todos los sentidos!

Con sus 89 primaveras sigue tocando y viajando por el mundo, regalando su música e inspirando a las nuevas generaciones!!

Recordare este encuentro y las conversaciones que mantuve con él durante toda mi vida. Además en el concierto el Maestro toco con mi saxofón!!

This week I had an extraordinary and unique experience!! I had the honor of personally meeting Maestro Lee Konitz, a true legend of jazz, extraordinary, gentle, wise, blessed in every way!

With his 89 springs he continues playing and traveling around the world, sharing with people his music and inspiring the new generations!!

I will remember this encounter and the conversations I had with him all my life. Also in the concert Maestro played with my saxophone!!

Alexey León Reyes hasn’t slowed down since earning his master’s degree from Berklee Valencia in 2014. The Cuban-born saxophonist and flutist has racked up top prizes at jazz festivals around the world, helped students achieve their musical goals as a teacher at Sedajazz in Valencia, and is about to release his third album, Okudzhava for My Mother, a homage to the Russian poet and songwriter Bulat Okudzhava. We recently caught up with him to discuss the inspiration behind his new project, and his career as an artist and educator.
