"To have a healthy sense of self-worth our self-esteem and self respect have to be in proper balance. Self-Esteem reflects how highly we regard ourselves and it mostly derives from our sense of our natural attributes. Self-respect has a lot to do with a retrospective assessment of ourselves and our actions. Therefore, self-esteem is more about knowing what we’ve been given (for ex. beauty, natural talents). Self-respect is about looking back on what we’ve done with our gifts.
