Full of good intentions for 2020? Want to help us move research into heart disease forward? Register with the Heart Hive today!

We’ve been thrilled and humbled by support for our Crowdfunder campaign, which allowed us to launch in November, and in the short time since then we’ve hit the 250 participant mark. On the back of that success we’re kicking off our first research study – the Heart Hive Cardiomyopathy Study lead by Imperial College London, and over 120 Heart Hive community members have already signed up to take part. We still have space for more participants to join.

For those that don’t know, the Heart Hive is a new way for people with cardiomyopathy and myocarditis to connect with researchers and take part in vital research that will help us understand more about heart muscle disease, develop new treatments and help improve quality of life.

The more people that take part in that research, the more powerful it is. Taking part really makes a difference.

All you need to do to take part in our research study is fill in the questionnaire and consent form which can all be done from your computer or connected device and takes less than 20 mins to complete.

To be eligible, you have a diagnosis of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) or dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM), are over 18 years old and live in the UK. Please log in to the portal and take a look at the study information. Once you have completed both online forms, we will send you a saliva collection kit through the post. If you have a different diagnosis you can still register and be the first to know when a new study is added that you are eligible to join

  • The Heart Hive

We've launched our first research study on the Heart Hive platform.

The study is open to participants who live in the UK, have a diagnosis of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) or dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM), and is being run by researchers at Imperial College London.

Our goal is to further the understanding of DCM and HCM, in particular how genetic and environmental factors interact to cause these conditions and to influence their severity and progression. The study's findings could help develop tailored treatments for patients with cardiomyopathy in the future.

Register with the Heart Hive today or log in to your account, and if you're eligible for the study you'll find the consent form and baseline surveys available in the "My Tasks" section of the portal. Both of these tasks need to be completed to be fully enrolled in the study.

You can also find the Participant Information Sheet in the portal for full details of the project.

We're very excited to announce that the Heart Hive is now open for registration!

Our first research project is available through the Heart Hive portal. The HeartHive Cardiomyopathy Study is open to eligible participants with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) & dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) based in the UK.

Further studies will be added to the portal in the coming months, so if you don't meet the criteria for the HeartHive Cardiomyopathy Study, please register with us anyway, and you'll be notified when there are project for you to sign up to.
