Data Literacy: The Universal Language Of The Fourth Industrial Revolution
I'm proud to count myself as one of the leading voices in the global data literacy movement. We are few and far between - but collectively we cover the globe. We are working tirelessly behind the scenes - seeking every opportunity to bring our message to centre stage:
data literacy will be the universal language of the fourth industrial revolution.
The data literacy movement is uncovering - and defining - a global landscape of advocates, champions and flag bearers which is constantly evolving. I am on daily phone calls with individuals and organisations from every land across the world. I spend my weekends responding to emails, working on manuscripts, trying to keep up with the influx of news items and requests for collaboration.
We are at a tipping point - we have come to a point in time where organisations, governments, educators and community leaders must start to work together and pool resources if we are to truly understand and respond to this global imperative. We must become a data literate population if we are to participate and thrive in the new economy.
So what are we waiting for? I believe we're waiting for someone to show us what to do.
The thought of building and nurturing data literacy in every man, woman and child across every land on this earth - I'm acutely aware of that - but the challenge is not insurmountable. The tools have already been developed, the methods have already been tested. There is a global community of innovators, futurists, educators and dreamers who are ready to give you everything you need. Our challenge is to help you find us. Your challenge is to accept our invitation.
