Could a cactus project get any cuter than these DIY paper earrings?!
I just adore these prickly plants, even though these particular saguaros couldn't get any smoother to the touch. Overall they measure just over 1 1/2", but you can adjust the size to meet your needs in your Silhouette software (if you don't have one, don't miss out! The Silhouette CAMEO 3 4T wireless starter bundle, including the cutting mat, is still under $200 on Amazon.com!) Since I did most of the work for you, all you have to do is click and download. Then, assemble the earrings with few other tools.
TOOLS & MATERIALS:
Green textured card stock
Small needle nose pliers (similar)
1. Download this free SVG file and cut the cactus shapes on green paper. Although I used a heavy card stock, to ensure the earrings don't become too flimsy as they are thin and small, I used the crafter's tape to attach one on top of the other. Do this for all of them.
2. Punch a small hole at the top of each cactus.
3. Use the pliers to open the fish hook ear wires.
4. Then insert a cactus into each one, and close them up to complete the set.
Instant cuteness for your summer wardrobe!
Total project time: about 15 minutes for two pairs of cactus earrings.
