Located in Danga Bay, Grand Bayview is easily distinguishable by the tanks on display which contain live seafood that diners can choose from.

With a colossal lobster-shaped sign stationed right outside the eatery and menu selections that include signature dishes like the siong tong lala (superior clam soup, RM30). This is apparently a must-try dish, especially if huge clams simmering in a spicy broth is what you’re craving.

This is a prime spot for night owls and members of the late-night crowd looking for a wholesome dinner.

So what’s so great about this place?

Well, for one, there are some incredible Chinese-style seafood selections, such as their Teochew-style steamed fish (RM52) complete with a tangy broth, salted vegetables, green onions and super tender flesh. Experience them yourself to confirm if the dishes are really as incredible as they seem!

There are conventional dishes like chicken and pork (Muslims should always check which spots/eateries are halal) but what most hungry customers come here for is the seafood. Popular dishes include lala (clams), cereal prawns, stir-fried squid with sambal, deep fried calamari with salted eggs and Hot plate bean curd with seafood in tom yam sauce.

Despite its isolated location in Pulai Springs Resort, Qing Palace seems to almost never have an empty house. In fact, fans of the eatery make long-distance trips for the culinary experience it offers.

Its grand Oriental décor resembles a bygone dynastic era and Qing Palace is apparently best known for signature dishes like the hot and sour egg drop soup with soft taufu, shiitake mushrooms, wood ear fungus, stirred-in egg and bamboo shoots, with a dash of chili oil and spring onions for taste.

Its pork-free status appears to have also helped it gain traction among Malaysians of different races and, not to mention, its prices are affordable enough for practically anyone.
