While we were enjoying bountiful food drinks and family fun, Gabrielle Union posted a beautiful picture of her family—including her husband Dwyane Wade, his son Zion, and the couple's daughter Kaavia James.
We all know internet trolls NEVER take a holiday not even during time of giving thanks. So a bunch of less-than-kind trolls decided to comment and criticize the fact that Zion is wearing long nails and a crop top. Although it's none of our business what happens in anyone else's household and how they choose to raise their children. The internet decided it was.
The comments posted was very judgmental and unkind. To the point where Dwyane decided to respond to the Twitter trills.
"I've seen some post-thanksgiving hate on social about my family photo. Stupidity is apart of this world we live in—so i get it. But here's the thing—I've been chosen to lead my family not y'all. So we will continue to be us and support each other with pride, love & a smile!"
The uplifting news is that he got a lot of positive feedback, including from someone who wrote
"Idk if @DwyaneWade & @itsgabrielleu know how POWERFUL & MOVING it is that they're embracing their son's individuality. (Damnit I'm crying) In our community, being given autonomy over your body, beliefs, image, & statements as a child isn't a thing. That child is free & happy."
Dwyane ended up responding to this, writing "As a parent my only goal is that my kids feel that i see them, love them and support them."
