Revit Course Collaboration
Early in 2018, Manuel Bermúdez Arquitecto received an invitation from Arch. Guillermo Marrero to collaborate with the Advanced Computer Aided Design and Drafting Course (ARCC 0403) at School of Architecture of the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico (Arqpoli).
The course introduces students to the concepts for the creation of 3D Architectural Models Databases and the extraction of bidimensional drawings. The course's main focus is on 3D Model Development, drawing linking and basic rendering techniques using Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.
Using Revit 2014, the students will form an understanding of the theoretical concepts and terminology, underlying database structures, and the technical tools required to work within Revit's various modeling environments.
The Projects selected from our firm to be developed by the architecture students were the San Juan Municipal Police Headquarters, designed and built between 1998 - 2000:
East Police Headquarters: developed by Shao NG
La Playita Police Station: developed by Mónica Pérez
We would like to congratulate the students on their excellent work. It has been an excellent experience to see projects developed originally in 2D programs being drawn up in 3D Models with the latest technology.
