OceanClear Recycle Point
Updated: Nov 25
We have truly enjoyed running the TerraCycle public drop-off location in Clitheroe throughout 2019, however due to other increasing family commitments and limited resources, we have made the decision to close our drop-off location as of 18th December 2019. We would like to say a huge thank you to all of those who have recycled with this this year!
Our launch as a drop-off location for TerraCycle UK in Clitheroe has been a welcomed resource in the Clitheroe Community. We kicked off the scheme in December 2018, and so far in 2019 the collections are going from strength to strength.
TerraCycle is making it's name by recycling the "non-recyclable", and as such diverting millions of pounds of waste from landfills each month. Partnering with individual collectors, small businesses and major retailers/manufacturers around the World, TerraCycle have become a global leader in recycling typically hard-to-recycle waste.
What we Collect:
Any brand of crisp packets
Any brand of biscuit, cake or cracker wrapper
Any brand of pet food pouches
Any brand of oral care packaging
Any brand of Health & Beauty product packaging
All recycling needs to be cleaned from leftover product and dry before depositing with us please.
We are building a support network throughout our local community, reaching out to village halls, community centres, businesses and schools, to come together and help with our collections. These additional collection points make it easier for people to make regular drop-off's at a time and location convenient to them.
By following our dedicated Facebook page @OceanClearRecycle you can keep up to date with our progress, find out more about the accepted waste streams, and find out more about our current partners. Please contact us if you'd like to get involved, we'd love to hear from you.
Any waste deposited with us will earn TerraCycle points, which will help us to fundraise for our chosen charity - Surfers Against Sewage. SAS have worked tirelessly to keep our UK coastlines clean since the 1990's, and in more recent years there has been a definite shift in the focus of their work towards tackling plastic pollution. You can find out more about their campaigns here.
