Nearly three-and-a-half years ago, I started writing the first draft for The Dark Resurgence. What planned to be a one day shoot turned into a revenant that spanned one full year of filming. All these years later, it's an experience that has taught me more than a book about filmmaking ever could. I learned from a ton of mistakes, made amazing memories, and built friendships around a shared passion for telling stories through a lens.
The love and dedication that went into this project and many others like it often goes unnoticed in such a short final product, but there is so much more beyond the final cut that I want to share with you. It won't cover everything, but it'll be a glimpse into the world of grass-roots indie filmmaking.
Even though we weren't able to have a full-time behind-the-scenes videographer with us during every step of the process, the team really banded together to recorded bits and pieces here and there that capture a lot of what we went through.
I've compiled all the behind the scenes content from The Dark Resurgence and cut it into a short video detailing our filming process from beginning to end.
There is new footage from the production set, choreography rehearsals, bloopers, and deleted scenes. I hope you enjoy this trip down memory lane.
