A special art workshop was held in Give Chances last Friday (April 26th), in which three artists and PhD students from Teachers College, Columbia University taught the students various art skills, such as painting, splattering, tracing and masking. During the workshop, children learned how to add multiples layers to create a harmonized artwork.
Besides the workshop, Give Chances opened its space to the public for a month to welcome any members of the community to come and enjoy the artworks of our students and the artists from Columbia University. We are looking forward to welcoming visitors to come enjoy and to support our student!
The artists brought various artwork examples and showed the students how to create each layer with different art techniques.
They enthusiastically focused in creating their artwork. We could almost feel the concentration! It was a great opportunity for our students to learn and develop new art skills, while having so much fun.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the support of NY Nanum Foundation and the artists who have made it possible for us to provide unforgettable learning experience for the students.
